Bath Day Tuesday

bath dayYou have to wonder about people. I mean take the people who show up to help Mom have a shower. Every Tuesday & Friday, Beacon Health Services sends us a person, and so far, knock on wood, we’ve had a good one come on Friday.

Not the case on Tuesdays.

First off, older people like routine, like familiarity. To keep sending new people, simply isn’t helping older people cope. Then too, it would be nice if they would send people, who are aware of limitations that effect Seniors.

Today’s worker, as an example, seems nice enought. Fifteen minutes late, and okay, that happens, but she likes to rush Mom. NOW, that is NOT okay.  I mean Mom is 92 years old, naturally she isn’t going to move like some twenty year old, but this one, things she should.

It is like she is in a hurry to go somewhere, but that isn’t her job. Her job is to provide Mom with help, and clean her. She has an HOUR IN HOME to do that, and frankly it really generally takes no more than a good 30 minutes. And that usually includes a shampoo.

Not with this one.

So why is she allowed to do these tasks? I mean is it that she is cheaper than the other, more senior ladies, or something else? Is it really about providing a service, or about the bottom line for the company?
