I think, those are the most telling, & ominious looks one can experience.
To look over, and see her just staring, with a blank look, is a bit unnerving. I mean, this is a lady who ran a huge department store, in northern Alberta, and turned an ordinary newstand, into a well known local landmark in her later life. To see her looking at a blank wall, as if trying to figure out what is happening around her, is unsettling.
One reason why we bought a scrabble game.

I don’t know, but from what little I’ve read, mental stimulation helps hold at bay the full onslaught of Dementia. You don’t want to tax her strength, and yet you need to stimulate it. I think too, simple things like just going up and down the stairs might help her energy too. The walking isn’t good, but if you don’t walk enough, well, you get less profecient at it. Plus, there is the mental aspect. Having to concentrate on a task, has to be helpful, doesn’t it?
