I sit here, watching and I wonder what goes through her mind, as she sits day in, day out, doing nothing but reading a book. She reads the newspaper, cover to cover, but does it sink in? Is she simply tired of making an effort, of living?  You can see it in her eyes at times, that look of just plain exhaustion, of weariness.  And it kind of makes you wonder, about life, about what…

It is one thing to have physical impediments, but another when those impediments are mental. One can adapt to the lack of mobility, to being bed ridden even, but when you can't remember how to do simple tasks, that has to be frightening and frustrating. Mom is starting to have spells, where she simply can't remember how to do simple things, like swallow or move her legs forwards or backwards. It makes things tougher, and is scary.

Not at the Doctors, or even at the bureacrats but at GOD. It is his plan, this experiment called Life and I wonder, surely something as powerful as HE is, had to know how much pain the passing from this life to the next would be. Why create a plan, that causes such suffering, for those who are just his children? Why?

Instead it is about who has the money to pay for it, not who needs the help. I do not want to live in this world any longer, it is too cruel, to greedy. IF the Government and Beacon Community Services have their way, it won't be for much longer. Instead of providing quality home care, they border on actual Abuse. They knowingly send in untrained workers, alter schedules, in order to keep the Senior from enjoying their remaining days on earth. They don't have to worry, they can afford private health care, or so they think. Perhaps it is time to hire a good lawyer, and find a way to stop this uncaring, this hateful abusive practise, that puts our loved ones, in the hands of greedy people. Perhaps it is time to stop thinking only of how much money one can make, but about how we treat people who have given their lives building this country.
