To step in and do things instead of letting her muddle through it. Maybe it is also about speeding things up, because you know, using the wheeler is a lot quicker than following behind when she uses the walker. Yet it is perhaps more beneficial, long term, to keep her moving, despite the pain, despite the speeding up. It isn't easy to insist on something, knowing it is going to cause her pain, but maybe a little pain is better than the alternative. These are the daily choices one must make, when caring for a parent who is 94. Not a simple task, and it makes a guy a nervous wreck. Still, it is what has to be.

Instead of playing whack a mole, by shifting workers around to cover for one who books off suddenly, they should have a person on call, who is just for that. But that will cost BCS more money, and hey, they can't have that, can they?

They don't disappear a few hours afterwards, they linger in the minds of old people, to the point where it harms their health. It creates a sense of fear, of trepidation, that lingers for days. Businesses like Beacon Community Services seems unaware of this, when they should know it, inside & out.

Like urinary output suddenly goes on the fritz, without warning, without any changes in diet. It makes care giving complicated. You don't know if there is an underlying issue, or not. You worry, about what is coming, or could come. This one more reason why consistent home support workers are needed. Strangers cannot help in this, like saying she is dry, wet, or if it is normal output or not. Life is complicated, regular trained home support does make a huge difference.
