I mean dad was the outgoing one of the two, yet our friday night ritual with my uncle & aunt was always instigated by Mom. She is the one who kept it going, who made us go out and Dad was the one who needed convincing. Yet he is the outgoing one.

She has a kind face, a sort of sparkle, that makes it seem like it would be fun to know her. Quiet and unassuming, she can still wield a sort of strength, that can shatter the most confident. A sharp tongue, no, not unless called for. Others may be quick with the repart, the rejoiner, but her, she weighs her words carefully, choosing them, but when she's on a mission, look out. That is Annice, my mom.
