Netflix is cheap, and more than that, it allows me to keep Mom entertained, while not distracting me from my own work. Who knows, I might become more productive, which means more income. Right now, that is a plus, because it ain't cheap looking after a lady of ninety four. The expenses are high, but more importantly, Mom can watch something she likes. No more having to try and figure out what to bring home, as the menu is there, and she can choose for herself. I really do love how this is working out.

It doesn't require much thinking, and doesn't tax the brain, but it does make you feel good. And I think, the older one gets, the more one needs comedy. You need something to laugh at, to feel good about. There is no doubt, it makes mom feel better. You can see it in her face, how the frowns are less rigid, the wrinkles a lit less deep. May not tax her mind, but it helps her cope, I think. It gives her a break from her thoughts.

It is when Midsomer Murders airs on the local public broadcasting station, in British Columbia. Knowledge Network offers some good commercial free television choices, and unlike the PBS stations south of the border, the pledge breaks are less frequent, and last maybe, 5 minutes or so, for an entire program. Makes Mom relaxed, and helps the time go by, in ease.
