Caring for an elderly parent isn't just an emotion drain, but is a financial one as well. Despite having socialized health care, we are ignoring those who need it the most. We refuse to accept that not everyone has a lot of disposable income, to spend on things like food, over the counter drugs, added heating costs. We put everything into a formula, but we ignore the human factor.

Consider how many patients Beacon Community Services administers to, and multiply that amount by them. Yet when did VIHA bother to send in someone to make sure the services supplied, are what is being paid for? So much for being Conservative, don't you think? Sort of more like spendthrift is you ask me.

Polite way of saying that we hasten their demise, death. This is what happens when those at the top of the scale are more interested in how many new cars they can buy, how many summer homes they have, than about insuring their product, service, is the best it can be. It filters down, so that many simply don't care, wrapped up in their own struggle to just survive todays Corporate Run World.

Life sucks, but there are things we can hold onto, that we can be glad to have. Like a mother who is 93, difficult, but still alive and kicking. A wife who does care, just doesn't know quite how to show it 24/7. To be alive.
